We asked a Kurt Rawlins Fitness client, Lauren Salm, to highlight her thoughts about how KRF has helped her achieve her fitness goals. She has proven to be a dedicated sport and has achieved amazing results while on this personal journey. We asked her a few questions related to her experience thus far and Lauren was kind enough to share her insight.
1) Why did you start training with KRF? What was your breaking point in propelling you to embark on your personal fitness journey?
A friend of a friend suggested it. I saw her results and my initial thought was, “I NEED to do this! Where do I sign up?!” The breaking point for me was after gaining over 40 pounds a little over 2 years ago due to stress and not making time for myself at my previous job. Although I have struggled on and off with my weight in the past, the way I looked and felt was nothing like I had experienced before. One day I stepped on the scale and I was the heaviest I’ve ever been. I couldn’t get it under control and figured a positive motivator was the only way to get me back on track and to teach me to take better care of myself.
2) What results have you seen since you started training with KRF? (these don’t necessarily need to be strength/fitness related)
The positive results are endless! First of all, I absolutely love working out now. If staying in shape and looking great was achieved solely by working out, I would be set for life. I never use to put emphasis on it or challenge myself in the way that I am challenged at KRF every day. Seeing what I can achieve (even when I think I can’t at first) is so rewarding. I’m stronger and more confident. I make better choices in my life and I truly listen to my body more than I ever have. And of course, there’s the amazing added bonus that I am down 30+ of those pounds that I gained and have added muscle to boot. I will never see that number on the scale again, or look in the mirror and feel that way again. Formulating these good habits into a lifestyle and turning working out into a passion has me confident I will never go back to the way I was. I can’t wait to continue my fitness journey.
